The MAIN MENU has only 8 options.
HOME will take you to a page in which summaries of ARTICLES are listed with the one most recently posted at the top. Article summaries are in chronological order (note the Date Posted for each). Titles of each ARTICLE are listed above the line and the READ MORE is located at the end of the summary or Quote and just above the next Article Title.Clicking on READ MORE takes you to the expanded article and the PHOTO ALBUM that corresponds to that ARTICLE. To get back to the HOME page to choose another Article summary and READ MORE, click on HOME or ARTICLES.
Note: Some Articles may not have a corresponding Photo Album.
A scroll down the HOME page will list the summaries of about a half dozen of the most recently posted Articles. At the bottom of the HOME page, a list is given for the Titles of the latest 25 articles posted. A click on any Title will take you to that Article.
ABOUT US is an explanation of why this Web site was created and what it hopes to do for the Oconee County Community. It ends with itself and does not loop back to any other page.
ARTICLES will take you to a list of CATEGORIES. Each Category will have, over time, many ARTICLES posted within that particular Category. Clicking on an individual CATEGORY will take you to a list of the Titles under that Category. From there, you can choose the Article of interest.
Notice also, that a serach engine is available on the left of the screen to also help you find your information. Only key words are needed to SEARCH. This will take you to a new page(s) with all related Articles listed. A click on any Article Title will take you to that Article and its related PHOTO ALBUM. The search engine does not work well will multiple keywords.
Note: When you select a particular Article to READ MORE, notice on the left of the page, the search engine has already searched and listed additional “Atricles That Might Interest You” that are related to the Article you have just chosen.
To Go Back to where you left off to search with a different key word, click on ARTICLES to take you to a list of the Categories or click on HOME to get back to the most recently posted Articles.
Note: Do not use the BACK ARROW to navigate backwards. Use the MAIN MENU on the right side of the page to go back to where you were.
Note:The Search Engine can be used anytime that it is present on the screen.
COUNTY AWARDS is a page that is like any other Article on this site with the exception that it is listed in the MAIN MENU so that it is always available to the viewer rather than buried in the chronological Category list only. However, make note that COUNTY AWARDS is listed on the CATEGORIES page also for your convenience.
Since there is more than one Award, a list of Awards by date posted, is given. To GO BACK, click on ARTICLES or HOME.
CONTACT US is the option to correspond with the folks at this site and to the “world” when posted. To have your comments posted, follow the 4 simple rules on the CONTACT US page and send via e-mail to kate@apvoc.com for approval by staff. A click on the e-mail address will take you to the e-mail page to write your comment in the body of the e-mail. Do not send a comment written in any word processor and sent as an attachment as these documents are vulnerable to Spyware and/or a virsus. You can be assured that your comment will be posted on the COMMENTS page (under ARTICLES) within a couple of days of receipt.
OLD WEBSITE. Some readers have thought that the OLD WEBSITE was no longer available. The OLD WEBSITE is now Archived information and will not be updated. But it can be accessed from this – the New Website via the OLD WEBSITE item above in the Main Menu.
PHOTO ALBUM is a list of the pictures that correspond to a particular Article. The Photo at the left of the Title of the Article is one picture taken from the entire album. A click on the picture or the Title of the Article will take you to the Album. On the PHOTO ALBUM page, there are several options. A click on any picture will take you to an enlargement of that picture. Notice at the top of the PHOTO ALBUM page, several options such as Slide Show and the timing between each picture and the method in which the series of pictures is presented on the screen (Transition Effect – fade, spiral, box in, box out, etc.). After the slide show is stopped, click on Back to Album to go back to the list of pictures in the Album and/or to choose another Photo Album. If you cannot find a particular PHOTO ALBUM, try scrolling to the bottom of the page and click on # 2, 3, 4 or 5 pages.
Note: Photo Album. “A picture is worth a thousand words.” These Albums are supplements to the text of the Articles that correspond to the Album.
READ FIRST is the page which you are now reading. It is listed in the MAIN MENU to be always available, but it is also listed as an Article on the HOME page.
